Housing
I. Purpose of Christian Campus House (CCH):
The ultimate purpose of Christian Campus House is to glorify God and proclaim the gospel. One way CCH accomplishes this purpose is by providing a Christian atmosphere in which students can live, study and mature as Christians while attending UCM. Any student who professes a belief in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, or expresses an interest in accepting Him as such will be considered for residence at the Campus House.
II. Application & Rent Procedures
- Rent is $375/month per person in the Christian Campus House. Two payment options exist: $375 may be paid on the first day of each month of residence, or $1580 can be paid to cover the entire cost of a semester’s residence. This $375 per month includes all utilities, and apartments are leased by the semester.
- A $375 damage deposit per resident is required for the Christian Campus House. Deposits will be returned upon vacating, provided the room passes a check out inspection, no damage has been sustained, and keys have been returned.
- A desire to cancel a signed and returned contract must be indicated in writing to the Campus Minister no later than eight weeks prior to the first day of class which will result in forfeiting of any deposits. Extraordinary circumstances will be taken on an individual basis. If you find a suitable applicant to take your place, your deposit will be refunded. If you break your contract after moving in, a $375 penalty will be assessed unless you successfully appeal to the board of directors.
- The duration of this contract is the entire semester as indicated on the contract unless other arrangements have been worked out with the campus minister. A person notified of acceptance for residence, who has signed the contract, is legally responsible for paying the entire semester’s rent.
- By conclusion of the lease period, rooms are to be cleaned up and all personal effects are to be cleared out.
- Residents are asked to provide essential supplies such as toilet paper/paper towels, light bulbs and general household consumer items. Items to be furnished will be expressed in writing.
III. A Resident Assistant (”RA”) will be appointed for the purpose of helping oversee the Campus House. That person will be given responsibilities that have been clarified previously through the Campus Minister. They will receive the large room, unless it is needed for a documented disability. Any decision made by a RA, in the Campus Minister’s absence, shall be supported by the Campus Minister, and should be supported by all residents. If a question arises over a RA’s decision, that decision shall be accepted until the return of the Campus Minister. Discussion of any problem or question is encouraged, but acceptance of authority is a prerequisite for living at the Campus House.
IV. Specific Regulations:
- Rooms will be open to inspection at any time, even without prior notification of residents. Room checks will take place on the first Monday of every month. If a resident fails two room checks, $25 will be taken from their damage deposit. Each time a resident fails, they will be given 24 hours to meet inspection. If they fail again, $25 will be taken from their damage deposit.
- Guns are not allowed in the Campus House; fixed-blade knives will be restricted to the kitchen area.
- Cooking will be limited to the kitchen area. Residents will be responsible for cleaning up after themselves.

V. Required Activities:
In keeping with the purpose of the Christian Campus House as stated in Section I., residents of the Christian Campus House are required to participate in fellowship and service that would promote a Christian atmosphere and result in personal and spiritual growth. To provide a basis for this participation, the following activies are required of all Campus House residents:
